What can I donate?
 
We accept most running and non-running vehicles including but not limited to cars, trucks, vans, trailers, RV's, boats and even airplanes. The vehicle must be in a 'complete' state and the donation can only be made by the registered vehicle owner. We cannot accept a vehicle that has any major parts missing, that has an insurance claim or lien against it, or that is not registered in Canada. Vehicles suitable for the auction process must have either an 'Active' or 'Rebuilt' registration status.
 
   
What options for donations are available?  
We can salvage non running vehicles to generate the funds for a donation to your chosen charity. We can also sell or auction your vehicle off for the purposes of generating funds for donation if the vehicle is running with a good working engine and transmission.
 
   
My car hasn't run in years. Can I still donate it?
 
Yes, we can accept most non-running vehicles. After submitting your information to us online, we will contact you to confirm the tow arrangement for your vehicle.
 
   
How do I donate my vehicle?
 
When you fill out your information by clicking on DONATE NOW, you will be given the opportunity to accept the terms that the net sale proceeds from the sale of your vehicle will be donated to the charity you select. This is a binding authorization that you agree Donate A Car Canada will act as your agent to sell your vehicle to generate a charitable donation on your behalf. We can only accept vehicles from the registered owner of the vehicle and you will need to provide the current vehicle registration as proof of ownership. The donor name(s) you enter on our site must match exactly with the vehicle registration.
 
   
What if my vehicle is not registered?
 
Legal proof of ownership is required. Therefore, we would need to receive the most current vehicle registration even if it is expired. If you do not have this, you will have to obtain a proof of last vehicle registration letter from your local registry office.

What if I do not have insurance?
 
We can tow your vehicle legally for the purposes of recycling or auctioning off the vehicle
 
   
How will my drivable vehicle be picked up for an auction?
 
After selecting 'Auction my running vehicle', we will review your submitted information to verify your car is suitable for the auction process. Factors such as the model type, age, condition and location of your vehicle may make it better suited to the recycle process and if so, we will advise you of the appropriate direction. We want to ensure the best sale method so the charity receives the most benefit. Whether we tow your car to the auction or for recycle, it will be towed by a professional towing company.
 
   
When will you pick-up my car?
 
We generally try to arrange removal within hours. However, same day service is normal and only in rare circumstances where the distance to travel beyond the city limits is hindering same day service, you can expect service the next day. We will always keep you informed well in advance of a prompt time.
 
   
Can I donate my car to another charitable group?
 
Let us know who you would like us to process a donation for and we will arrange it for you. Whether or not the organization you choose is or is not registered with the federal government to receive donations and offer tax receipts is out of our control however.
 
   
Is my donation tax deductible?
 
You will receive a tax receipt from the charity that you have chosen.
 
   
When will I receive my tax receipt?
After the sale of your vehicle and our accounting process is complete, we will send you an email confirming your donation has been sent to the charity. You should then receive your tax receipt from the charity within approximately 6 weeks.

IMPORTANT
We require a copy of a signed Registration Certificate as well as endorsement of services by signing the Donation Form (download it below).

                                                                INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Simply click on the link below to download and print a copy, or, for you to use as a master copy to rewrite the exact same details on a blank piece of paper if you do not have a printer.

2. Sign the backside of the Registration Certificate with your details and leave the Buyer portion blank for the purposes of purchase through private auction or sale.

3. Please have the signed Registration Certificate with the Donation Form ready when the tow truck driver arrives to remove the vehicle for donation.
